Admission requirements

  • Completion of (at least) a 3-year undergraduate degree program, or equivalent from a recognised university with a major in computing or information technology or completion of Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Management or equivalent
  • Required proficiency in English. IELTS overall band score 6.0 with no band less than 5.5

Program Overview & Objectives

The Master of Information Technology Management is designed specifically for those with a background in IT or computing who aspire to be IT managers, and require an understanding of the strategic management of IT resources within IT departments and organisations.

On completion of this program you should:

  • understand the importance of and interrelationships among technology, management and
    strategy;
  • be able to discuss the management issues surrounding new and emerging technologies;
  • be able to implement strategies for managing IT project change;
  • have developed appropriate project management principles and techniques;
  • be able to familiarise yourself with the latest developments in information technology;
  • show an awareness of ethics and social implications in information technology;
  • value the importance of IT project management within a business environment; and
  • be able to use a range of effective communication strategies.

Career Opportunities

Graduates could expect to work in any area of industry, commerce or government, in ICT strategic management or project management roles.

Program Structure

The program is two years full-time and consists of 16 courses providing theoretical and practical skills in information technology management. You may be eligible to exit the program after the successful completion of the first two semesters and be awarded the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology Management. You may be eligible to exit the program after the successful completion of 12 specified courses and be awarded the Master of Information Technology Management Studies.
