Admission requirements

  • Completion of a Bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognised university, and a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience. If a candidate has the appropriate academic/professional qualification but lacks relevant work experience normally required for the Master of Business Administration, they may be admitted to the program after successfully completing an industry immersion Program at the discretion of the Course Coordinator,
  • Required proficiency in English. IELTS Band Score 6.0 with no band less than 5.5

Course Overview & Course Objectives

The Master of Information Technology Studies and Master of Business Administration degree will provide advanced skills and knowledge in the related disciplines of Business and Information Technology. This course will enable students to combine the benefits of technical computing skills that are now much sought after in the Information Technology industry with the closely related business disciplines of management, marketing, human resource management, and electronic commerce.

Students will fulfil the aims and objectives for both of the constituent degrees. The Master of Information Technology Studies is designed to provide advanced theoretical and practical concepts by coursework.

The objectivesof this course are that students should be able to:

  • develop programming skills required to architect and implement complex computer systems;
  • understand the methods and techniques involved in designing, implementing and maintaining an information system, in particular using an object-oriented approach;
  • demonstrate familiarity with the theoretical basis of Information Technology;
  • develop appropriate project management principles and techniques;
  • familiarize themselves with the latest developments in Information Technology; and
  • show an awareness of the ethical and social implications of their area of interest.
The Master of Business Administration is a generalist degree intended for those with some practical experience who now wish to widen their managerial knowledge and skills.

The course is enables students to:
  • develop as high potential individuals capable of serving the advanced management needs of local, national and global enterprises;
  • develop knowledge and competencies for immediate use and the acquisition of a strategic perspective;
  • acquire a sound working knowledge of the core disciplines of business supplemented by an in-depth study of advanced specialization;
  • develop the conceptual frameworks and skills of critical analysis applicable to entrepreneurial operations in a global economy; and
  • add to the momentum of a business career, rather than be a competitor to it, through offering a range of flexible delivery methods

Holding the Master of Information Technology Studies and Master of Business Administration qualification will be an advantage for graduates that are seeking work in areas such as business information systems, information technology management, and managers with high level information technology skills.

Course Structure

The course is a double degree that is designed to enable students to complete all requirements from both degrees in 5 semesters (2.5Years) of full-time study.
