This course covers skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. This course is relevant to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council(ARC) guidelines. Skills and knowledge required to recoginze and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council(ARC) guidelines.
Students are required to complete two assessments. Students will be assessed from the pre-study and face to face session.

It is requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor.
On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for:
HLTAID003 Provide First Aid (valid for 3 years).
HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support (valid for 3 years).
HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (valid for 12 months).
