As an RTO - Academy IT provides accredited training at Certificate & Diploma Levels and operates under strict compliance and quality assurance guidelines.

Professional Year Program (PY)

The Academy IT Professional Year Program (PY) is provided on behalf of and delivered in partnership with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for ICT/Computing Graduates from Australian Universities to provide practical employment skills and industry recognised training to further enhance graduates' careers opportunities within an Australian workplace environment.

ACS's ProfessionalYear Program gives international ICT graduates from Australian teritary providers the practical job skills and training needed to enhance their career prospects. A practical pathway from university to employment, PYear ensures that graduates are job-ready.

ACS Online Orientation (1 Week):

This orientation is delivered by ACS and will take you through the course outcomes and expectations to successfully complete the program.

 

Classroom Training (32 Weeks)

 

Delivery Mode:

1 day per week for 32 weeks of coursework covering

Training is delivered by Academy IT’s experienced and qualified instructors and covers the following main topics:

 

Communication and Performance in the Australian Workplace

Includes – Workplace health and safety, working in teams and participation in team meetings, negotiating skills, preparing and delivering presentations
 

Entry and Advancement in the Australian Workplace

Includes – learning Australian values and employer expectations, job searching & networking, resume/cover letter preparation, and interviewing skills (delivered by an industry recruitment specialist)
 

Internship Placement (12 Weeks / 220hrs):

Professional internship placement will provide you with opportunities to apply your university learning in the real world, acquire new skills and grow your industry network.

We ensure that each hosting company understands how best to assist you to achieve your professional development goals and we are proud to have placed 100% of our ACS candidates into a professional internship related to ICT.
Internship placements are organized and managed by Academy IT through their extensive existing links and relationships with South Australian-based organisations. Academy IT is well placed and highly respected by many employers as they have been providing a full range of IT technical training to employed IT Technicians & Developers for over 12yrs.

Grading and assessments:

Participants are graded on classroom attendance and participation, assessment tasks, and completion of the 12-week internship placement in ICT.

To receive a Professional Year certification participants must have a 100% attendance record, complete the required assessment tasks, and 12-week internship placement.

Entry requirements:

To qualify for the Professional Year Program - ACS, you must:

  • have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award in Australia for ICT
  • hold or applied for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485,) with at least 12 months validity or;
  • hold an eligible Secondary Visa with work and study rights with at least 12 months validity
  • have at least a PTE-A score of 51 in all categories or overall IELTS score of 6.0 across all four competencies or equivalent

Application

Admission Process

Application and Admission Process

1. Download and complete the application form below or submit via one of IIBIT’s registered agents by emailing the filled application with certified documents to py@iibit.edu.au

2. Refer to ‘Document checklist’ for all the required documents that need to be submitted along with your application.
3. Once you submit your form, we will assess your application and contact you to finalise your application. If you are successfully admitted, we will send you a Letter of Offer and an invoice for the program fees. Once you have provided all the correct documentation and we have received payment, we will send you a Confirmation of Enrolment letter, which will include your program start date.
4. Once the above is successfully received, an introduction package will be sent directly to you.


To complete the application form, you will need certified copies of the following
documents:
• Certified copy of your academic transcript/qualifications (English version)
• Certified evidence of English language proficiency unless you can demonstrate you are a native English speaker (minimum of IELTS 6.0 in all bands or equivalent in PTE, TOEFL, CAE)
• Certified copy of your photo and signature page of passport or proof of identity if you are an Australian Citizen
• Evidence of a current suitable visa or New Zealand citizenship
• A copy of your current resume
• A relevant skills assessment from an industry professional body (only applicable for Professional Year Programs)
